Paddleheads take care of Raptors for the third night in a row | News, sports, jobs

For the third straight night in Ogden, the Missoula Paddleheads jumped to the top and drove to a win over the Ogden Raptors, this time an 11-8 win on Friday night.

Missoula beat Ogden star Tate Budnick for seven runs in the three innings, with the final push coming in the fourth inning when Budnick didn’t score any outs before relieving.

Troy Whitty held the paddleheads on run for two innings, but Missoula ended when Jared Akins hit a 3-run homer against Mark Mixon for an 11-3 lead in the seventh inning.

The Raptors held up a four-run inning as Andy Armstrong doubled up, Troy Dixon doubled up, Dom Abbadessa in Dixon, and a Reese Alexiades single over a pair.

Alexiades and Jakob Goldfarb were in the middle of most of Ogden’s runs, as well as in the ninth with 11-8. Goldfarb doubled up with two outs and scored on an Alexiades single.

Goldfarb finished 4 for 5 with four runs scored. Alexiades hit 3 for 5 with three RBIs.

Dylan Pearce and Kida De La Cruz, the latter against his former team, kept Missoula on hit and zero runs for the last 2 2/3 innings, but Ogden couldn’t rally offensively.

The two teams will play the fourth game of the series on Saturday at 6.30 p.m.
