Salt Lake City man arrested after allegedly assaulting Uber driver

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, March 9, 2021 (Gephardt Daily) – A Salt Lake City man was arrested after allegedly assaulting an Uber driver.

In a statement from the Salt Lake County’s 3rd District Court, Kavin Pandey, 29, was charged with two cases of violent sexual abuse, a second degree crime, and a case of assault, a Class B offense.

The statement said the Uber driver, a woman, picked up Pandey on February 23rd.

The suspect allegedly touched the woman’s chest and allegedly put his hand on her leg, thigh and private parts.

The woman told officials she pushed Pandey’s hand away and hit him. Then he reached behind the woman’s hair, pulled out some of it and asked, “Does that feel good?” the statement said. She replied, “No. Do not touch me. Leave me alone, “added the statement. Then she grabbed his wrist and pushed it back towards him.

She then dropped him off at his destination.

Pandey is due to appear in court on April 1st.
