A 40-year-old Willard woman was flown to an Ogden Hospital for serious injuries on Saturday when her small car was hit by a pickup truck on Brigham City’s main drag.

According to Lt. Anthony Ferderber of the Brigham City Police Department was driving the woman north near Brigham City’s Burger King at around 2:40 p.m. when a Dodge pickup truck driven by a 57-year-old Brigham City man was driving out of Brigham City pulled out lane heading south meeting the woman’s Ford Fusion.

“The Ford Fusion then hit a Subaru Forester and a Toyota Corolla, which were also heading north,” said Ferderber. “The driver of the Ford Fusion had to be freed from their vehicle and was transported by helicopter to Ogden due to severe injuries to his left wrist and left ankle.”

Two passengers in the pickup were transported to Brigham City Community Hospital with minor injuries. The occupants of the Subaru and Toyota did not suffer any injuries.

Contrary to information posted about the accident on some social media websites, investigators found that the driver of the truck was not under the influence of alcohol.

The man may face negligent driving and negligent collision charges. These charges are currently under review by the Box Elder County Attorney’s Office.
