Yes, yes … the skiing is great and it’s great to live near so many awesome national parks, but when the undead are on the rise, Lawn Love’s rankings claim that SLC is a place to be you want to be.

Salt Lake City was ranked 27th on the list of the 200 best cities to survive a zombie apocalypse, following on from its northern neighbor in Boise.

The rankings were created using 23 key indicators in 6 categories. Some of the metrics include hunting gear stores per 100,000 living residents, the number of military bases, and the physical activity level of the residents.

Overall, Salt Lake City did well with an overall score of 42.33:

  • Public Health Rank – 39.
  • Vulnerability Rank – 169
  • Infrastructure rank – 50
  • Supply Rank – 23
  • Protection rank – 21
  • Mobility Rank – 97

While the ranking in the lower 20s may seem a bit precarious for SLC when the zombies arrive, residents can be grateful that they don’t live in Laredo, Texas, the city believed to be the least prepared for the ZA (zombie- Apocalypse for those “in the” know “).

Huntington Beach, California was best prepared, along with three Washington cities (Bellevue, Vancouver, and Seattle) in the top 10.
