SALT LAKE CITY – On the tail end of back-to-back games, no. 16/16 Oklahoma was downed 124-78 by No. 25/24 Utah in a ranked matchup at the Huntsman Center on Wednesday night.

The loss was the first of Oklahoma’s (3-1) season as the Utes jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, despite multiple runs from the Sooners.

Utah (4-0) led 24-13 midway through the first frame before a pair of Taylor Robertson 3-pointers cut into the lead. The Sooners got within three points after Robertson sunk a trio of free throws, but the Utes answered with a 16-6 run to push the lead back to double digits. Utah used a big run in the third quarter to put the game away and OU couldn’t threaten the lead as the Utes pulled away with their best shooting performance of the season.

Freshman Reyna Scott hit double-digit points for the first time in her career with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Taylor Robertson scored 11 points on 2-of-4 shooting and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line and her first trey of the night moved her into solo fifth all-time on the NCAA 3-pointer list. Skylar Vann added 12 points and three rebounds in the effort. Kennady Tucker tallied a season-high 11 points and five rebounds off the bench. The Sooners shot 41% on 26-of-64 shooting compared to the Utes’ 55% and 13 made 3-pointers.

The Sooners will look to get back on track on Sunday when they take on UT Arlington (2-1) at the Maggie Dixon Classic at Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Tip is set for 3:30 pm CT on ESPN+.
