Utah Reports 2,219 New COVID-19 Cases On Wednesday; 13 deaths

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Department of Health reported 2,219 new COVID-19 cases and 13 new deaths since the previous day on Wednesday.

School-age children account for 495 of the new cases reported on Wednesday.

  • 278 cases in children aged 5-10 years
  • 105 cases in children aged 11-13 years
  • 112 cases in children aged 14-17 years

According to the health department, the rolling 7-day average for positive tests is 1,674 per day. The 7-day rolling average for the percent positivity of “people over people” is 16.6%. The 7-day rolling average for percent positivity for “tests over tests” is 10.9%.

Utah is currently hospitalized for 557 people with COVID-19.

The case statistics for the 13 new deaths reported on Wednesday are as follows:

  2. Female, 65 to 84 years old, resident of Utah County, resident in long-term care facility
  3. Male, 15 to 24 years old, Uintah County resident, unknown if hospitalized at time of death *** not underage ***
  4. Male, between 45 and 64, residents of Utah County, hospitalized at the time of death
  5. Male, aged 65 to 84, residents of Rich County, hospitalized at death
  6. Male, aged 65 to 84, Salt Lake County residents, hospitalized at death
  7. Male, between 65 and 64, residents of Duchesne County, hospitalized at the time of death
  8. Female, aged 45 to 64, resident of Box Elder County, hospitalized at death
  9. Male, between 45 and 64, residents of Salt Lake County, hospitalized at the time of death
  10. Male, aged 65 to 84, Salt Lake County residents, hospitalized at death
  11. Male, aged 65 to 84, Salt Lake County residents, hospitalized at death
  12. Female, older than 85, resident of Cache County, hospitalized at death
