Who will be the new superintendent of the Ogden School District?

OGDEN, Utah (ABC4) – The Ogden School District announced its new headmaster Tuesday afternoon.

During a special session, the district appointed Luke Razumussen to take control of the district.

He will take up his new role on July 1, 2021

In a statement on the appointment, Rasmussen said: “I believe that a positive school culture”
is more important than any strategy we can use. We have to go with our students and ours
Fellowship every day so that they know they are loved and cared for. I think so
what we focus on grows. We have to be direct and focus on the things that matter most
achieve the results our students deserve. “

Rasmussen is no stranger to Utah as the former soccer player earned his bachelor’s degree from Weber State University before earning both a Masters of Educational curriculum and a Masters of Administration and Supervision.

In 2019, he was recognized by the Utah State’s Association of Secondary School Principals for his work in increasing student performance and school growth at Ogden High School with the Principal of the Year Award.

Rasmussen then became the Executive Director of Secondary School Administration for the Ogden School District.

The district’s search for a new superintendent was not easy, with candidates from Illinois and Texas applying for the position, according to a district press release.

Rasmussen’s appointment comes because the previous Superintendent of the Ogden School District, Dr. Richard Nye, has been selected as the new Superintendent of the Granite School District.

Dr. Nye will also take up his new role on July 1, 2021.
